Re: Courtney Grubért , Author of Stacking Pennies
I had the pleasure working with Courtney Grubért on her Rena Day Care Center and After School presentation. My company filmed her while lecturing Middle School children on the benefits of spending practices. I was impressed with her illustrations to the young people who are just learning to go out and purchase on their own. She simply used her people skills to effectuate a quick learning process with the school children in the classroom. She masterfully captured their attention and drew them into a comparative shopping exercise she developed for that day. The children “got it” and simply understood the value of bargain shopping and what it means to use your money smartly.
Ms. Grubért was also a guest on my TV talk show “Inside View” in December 2010. On the reverse end of the same process, she demonstrated a more sophisticated version of illustration to her adult audience on my television interview. She completely captivated the audience in discussing the impetus for her book and how she and her peers saved considerable dollars by adapting good spending habits.
I hope to do more interviews with Ms. Grubért on the show, as well as see her impart more of what her book is about to many more audiences young and old.
Sincerely,

“Quote” Literacy Coach Carla Turner said she had never seen her students be as engaged in any of the previous guest speakers. She was overwhelmed when all one hundred of her students were engaged and enthusiastic. Mrs. Turner was elated she has already requested me to come back and lecture to her student again.
